Larkana’s condition same despite Rs 17bn spent: SUP leader

LARKANA: The rulers had established system of looting in the metropolitan and municipal corporations and are digesting funds and giving commission to their bosses. We want to build Larkana like Islamabad. Rs 17 billion had been spent on Larkana but its condition was still the same. He said annual budget of the province is about Rs 850 billion but situation of this city was still very bad.

This was stated by Sindh United Party (SUP) chief Syed Jalal Mahmood Shah while addressing SUPs’ Divisional Workers Convention held late last night. He said:

“During upcoming general elections, the candidates will have to contest elections with full vigour and zeal for which they will have to expedite contacts with the people.”

SUP leader said the only way for change was politics but they will have to eliminate and raise voice against dishonest and corrupt people. He said a town having 5000 population was having town committee in the past but PPP rulers made it for 10,000 population. He said despite this fact Beero Chandio, Bakrani and other towns had over 10,000 population but they had not been given the status of town committee.

Shah said that if Sindh government was making laws then it was its responsibility to implement them without any discrimination. He said we need hard working, dedicated and honest people to contest upcoming elections to serve the masses. SUP Central Vice President Dodo Maheri, Roshan Ali Buriro, Idrees Chandio, Abdul Karim Chandio, Asma Abro, Mahmood Bhutto, Shahzad Lashari and others also addressed the gathering.
