KARACHI:Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif ur Rehman said that private sector’s involvement was necessary for providing better medical facilities to citizens and to upgrade public sector hospitals.
He expressed these views while visiting the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital on Friday morning.
“List of all essential medical equipment and machines should be prepared for each department of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital so these could be arranged. Better management and required tools and other apparatus are keys to success in every sector of life.”
Senior Director Medical and Health Services, Dr Beerbal Genani, Medical Superintendent, ASH, Dr Nadeem Rajput, Dr Aamir Jalil, Dr Amjad Gulzar, Dr Mehmood Haider, Dr Shahid Noor and others were also present.
Saif ur Rehman also inspected the latest image intensifier (C Aram) machine that would help surgeons to focus on exact place of surgery and keep reviewing the procedure on screen in the orthopedic department of ASH. He said that fully trained and skilled staff should be deputed for operating this machine.
He said all three surgical departments including orthopedic, neuro and dental required latest equipment and machines to make these departments operational. Those who have joined us in the wellbeing and welfare of humanity should be ensured that all donations were utilized in right purpose.
He also instructed that all the apparatus and equipment which have been donated to the hospital should be recorded in the concerned register. He also directed to improve washroom maintenance.
