Minor girl sexually assaulted, killed in Karachi

KARACHI: A six-year-old girl, who was allegedly beaten up and subjected to sexual assault by unidentified men, was found dead from a garbage heap in Manghopir area of the city on late Monday night.

A six-year-old girl, Rabia, went missing from Orangi town’s Baloch Para on 15 April 2018. Her body was recovered from a garbage heap in Manghopir. The victim family members and area people staged a protest and blocking the road leading to Kati Pahari in Orangi town to seek justice.

The protesters, who had also brought the body of the minor to the protest site, demanded of authorities to take notice of the incident and arrest those who committed the heinous crime.

Meanwhile, three protesters were wounded during the clash when the police fired tear gas shells and began aerial firing to disperse the protesters. The police said that the DNA samples had been taken from the body and investigation would continue once the report is completed.
