NAB: (NAB committed to root out corruption in all forms, manifestations: Chairman)

ISLAMABAD:Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Javed Iqbal has said that taking mega corruption and white collar crime cases to logical conclusion is the top most priority of the anti-graft body.

Chairing a meeting here on Monday, he said we strongly believe in conducting the inquiries and investigations of white collar crimes on scientific lines and that too after collecting solid evidence as per the law.

He said NAB is committed to root out corruption in all its forms and manifestations. He said measures are being taken to check money laundering. The money stashed abroad through corrupt means would be taken back to the country as per law.

He said the NAB has improved its overall workings with the help of anti-corruption strategy. NAB has fixed a period of ten months to finish the case right from conducting complaint verification to filing a reference.

He said inquiries and investigations of fake housing and cooperative societies would also be taken to logical conclusion.

The meeting was informed that a total of 1275 corruption references involving Rs943 billion are at different stages of hearing in twenty five accountability courses.

The anti-graft body has recovered Rs178 billion from the corrupt elements during the tenure of present management of NAB.
