LARKANA:Recently posted Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Larkana Range, Irfan Baloch, said Wednesday that during past eight years, Larkana division had faced big destruction and Larkana Region was considered hub of criminals and dacoits.
He was talking to newsmen during his first visit to Larkana Press Club after taking over the job today. He said it was worthy to note that Larkana Range police achieved a major success in killing two terrorists of banned outfit, Hafeez Brohi and his leader Abdullah Brohi in an encounter.
He said those terrorists were involved in targeting sufi shrines and shia community in Sindh who had now been eliminated. He said crime at the moment was under control and police was still working to better prevailing law and order situation.
Baloch said that accomplices of killed terrorists and their links were still available which would also be taken to task. He said another issue in Sindh is, he added, that some bandits are involved in kidnappings using ladies’ voice which is a major challenge for police, he added.
Baloch said work on this sort of crime was also underway and soon it would also be wiped out. DIGP said: Nineteen to twenty persons are missing from Larkana region and seven children are also to be recovered. He said he held a meeting with the concerned police officers and the heirs of the missing persons and children today and hoped these will be recovered soon. He said its our effort that no more persons are whisked away.
SSP Masood Bangash said that those who are spreading ethnic issues on Facebook will also be brought to justice for which meeting has been held with relevant authorities of cyber crime. Traditional gifts of Sindhi Ajrak and Cap were presented to the DIGP on his arrival at LPC.
