New DL Block named after AD Khowja inaugurated

KARACHI:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Amjad Javed Saleemi on Tuesday inaugurated a new Block named after former Sindh police chief AD Khowaja at Driving License Branch Clifton in Karachi.

Speaking at the ceremony, IGP Sindh appreciated the steps taken by former IGP Khowaja to facilitate Sindh police with the modern needs and to establish the police facility centers at the level of special range.

He said the better way to curb deadly road accidents is to provide licenses to capable drivers. Traffic police is well aware of responsibilities of his duties, but traffic police officers should take special steps to implement traffic laws.

He said that police system would be modernized and made more effective and efficient at all levels, because the system is extremely important and useful in the control of crime and ensure peace and security.

Additional IG Traffic Sindh said that 26 driving license branches are operating in 30 districts across the Sindh province, while four districts are also required to construct branches.

He said: “Soon a new branch of DL will also be set up in district East with the help of KDA, and in this regard, all necessary legal issues are being fixed. Furthermore, DL branches will also be set up in the districts South and Malir.”

He said efforts for launching of the International DL branches in Karachi, Hyderabad and other police ranges were underway.
