Nimrita’s mysterious death: judicial inquiry to begin on 27th

LARKANA:The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Larkana Range, Irfan Baloch, and SSP Masood Bangash called on District and Sessions Judge (DSJ) Wednesday and discussed issue of Dr. Nimrita Chandani who was found dead in mysterious conditions in her hostel room. The victim was final year student of Bibi Aseefa Dental College, Larkana.

While talking to newsmen after the meeting, DIGP said that formal judicial inquiry would begin from September 27 for which DSJ had been informed by the Registrar, Sindh High Court. He said police would assist in the inquiry.

Baloch said that no case had so far registered and now FIR would be lodged in the light of judicial inquiry findings. He said terms of reference would also be finalized and it will be ascertained whether it was a suicide or murder and what was the role of university administration. He said that Dr. Nimrita’s family members were passing through a tragedy as she was their only daughter and they don’t want to indulge in any legal issue due to which they had declined to lodge a case.

He said they all were with the heirs of Nimrita. He said all statements, chemical analysis, postmortem report, photos and so forth had been handed over to DSJ in the shape of a file. He said now they would move forward in light of the guidelines to be given by the DSJ. It must be mentioned here that heirs of the deceased Dr. Nimrita had also demanded a judicial inquiry to find the truth.
