ISLAMABAD:According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 45% Pakistanis claim that Ghee is mostly used for cooking in their house followed by 40% who cite packaged oil as the most used oil for cooking.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “What kind of oil is used for cooking in your house?” In response, 45% said Ghee, 40% said packaged oil (e.g. Dalda, Meezan, Sufi, etc.), 7% Desi Ghee, and 7% said oil from fruits, vegetables, seeds or nuts (e.g. coconut, almond, olive, mustard, sunflower, peanut, and sesame seed oil). 1% said that they did not know or wish to respond.
The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1,480 men and women in urban and rural areas of all four provinces of the country, during April 21-April 30, 2019. The error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 percent at the 95% confidence level.
