Posts of Commissioner, Director Education vacant in Larkana since long

Larkana: Two vital posts of Director Elementary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and Commissioner, Larkana Division, are lying vacant since long, but nobody has so far bothered to fill the vital administrative posts so that relevant affected people should not suffer for negligence of others.

In this connection, it was learnt that the charge of Commissioner, Larkana Division, is being looked after since 25th January 2021 by Shafique Ahmed Mahesar, who is posted to work as Commissioner, Sukkur Division. Since the past nine months the Sindh Government has not been able to post a full time Commissioner for Larkana Division which negates their tall claims of establishing merit and good governance in the province.

On the other hand, on Tuesday, Junior Elementary School Teachers JESTs Ataz Laghari, Altaf Juneji, Sikander Joyo, Riaz Arbnani and others told newsmen that the post of Director, Elementary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Larkana, has also been vacant for the past over two months.

They said that 84 Junior School Teachers JSTs were promoted to Higher School Teachers HSTs on 20th May 2021 and the Education Secretary issued their promotion and posting list on 30th July, but ten teachers including five male and five female teachers were not included who were also deserving of being eligible keeping in view their seniority adding since past four months we are running from pillar to post but nobody is ready to redress our lawful grievances.

They said on 25th October we submitted all the relevant documents to the deputy director Maqsoodul Haq Qureshi but still our promotion has not been made. They said the education secretary Ghulam Akbar Laghari has been constantly saying that his priority is to resolve issues confronted by the teachers but we are still awaiting justice for four months. They urged Sindh Chief Minister, Education Minister and Education Secretary to immediately post the Director in Larkana so that their problems could be solved on merit.
