Potential rise in Hajj package resented

Karachi:Potential hike of Rs0.1mn in the Hajj package is unwarranted and it shows that the Islamic state of Pakistan is not serious to facilitate its citizens in performing the religious duty of Hajj, said Pasban Democratic Party Public Issues Committee Director Abubakar Usman here Wednesday.

He said it is regrettable that the sitting government is shifting burden of rupee depreciation against the US dollar to Hujjaj instead of absorbing it, itself. He said the government should refrain from making the Hajj package costlier and it should also provide three-time meals to the Hujjaj. He said facilitating the Hujjaj would bring blessings for the sitting government.

He demanded to increase the government quota, and discourage commercialization of Hajj through private quota. He said the government should announce the package of private quota and services included in it, so that the profit hungry private Hajj operators should be stopped from exploitation of the Hujjaj.
