PPPP’s sitting MPA passes away

KARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples’ Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) member Sindh Assembly Sardar Ahmed Ali Pitafi passed away on Friday.

Elected from PS-7 Ghotki, Pitafi was sitting MPA of the ruling party and also the member of the provincial assembly’s standing committees on agriculture; industries and commerce, works & services; primary Health (BHU, HRC and Vertical Programmes)and Secondary Health (Rest of Health); and planning, Development and Special Initiatives.

This was his third term as MPA as he held the public office from 1988 to 1990 and 1993 to 1996.

PPPP President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his profound sorrow and grief over the death of the lawmaker and condoled with the bereaved family.

In a message, Zardari paid rich tribute to Pitafi for his services to the party and his commitment with which he served the party in whatever position he was asked. He said that the party was with the bereaved family in this time of grief.

Separately, Zardari also expressed his sorrow and grief over the death of former Air Chief Asghar Khan.

He prayed to Allah, the Almighty, to grant eternal peace to the departed souls and strength and fortitude to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.
