Rally staged against Larkana mayor, UC chairman

LARKANA: The residents of Union Committee 12 of Larkana city took out a rally here on Sunday against Larkana Mayor and UC Chairman Nek Muhammad Bhutto for not carrying out uplift works and cleansing the city.

The participants of the rally marched from Akil Road to Jinnah Bagh roundabout, where they staged a sit-in, held a demonstration and chanted slogans against the local government leaders. The protesters were led by Abid Abbasi, Waheed Sindhi, Siraj Kalhoro, Syed Imran Shah, Shafi Bhutto and others.

Addressing the participants, the protesting leaders said that localities of Union Committee 12 had been neglected by the Larkana Mayor and UC Chairman Nek Muhammad Bhutto due to which no development works had been made in the past five years and entire UC was littered with garbage. They alleged that the budget was being embezzled instead of spending for the welfare of the denizens.

They said that sewage was overflowing as there was no proper drainage system, while there was no cleanliness in the area as many people had also been infected with various deadly diseases as well. They appealed to the Chief Justices of Pakistan and Sindh to take notice of the problems faced by the citizens. They also urged PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to instruct his party men to treat every citizen equally without any discrimination.
