Rulers are afraid of social democracy: Ghinwa

KARACHI: PPP-SB Chairperson Ghinwa Bhutto has said that rulers are afraid of social democracy as it cannot work in capitalism.

“If there is no socialism, then democracy is of no use. It is not democracy that 20% people possess wealth, lands and other things while 80% remain slaves,” she said while addressing a public gathering here on Wednesday to mark the 39th death anniversary of ShaheedZulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Ghinwa said that had there been real democracy, Naqeebullah and Mashaal would not have been killed. She said: “Justice prevails in real democracy and free treatment and education is provided, safe drinking water is provided, peace prevails, children are not killed. Had there been real democracy, Zainab had not been brutally murdered,” she added.

She said that it was very difficult to get safe drinking water in this democracy. She said rulers are owners of water companies and head of hydrants. She said that peace & tranquility is provided to the people but now rulers are owners of security companies. She said food is provided on cheaper rates in real democracy but the prices have been increased in this democracy as rulers are owning sugar mills and other businesses. She said until and unless provinces are not given their rights poverty cannot be reduced.

She said: “Shaheed Bhutto started social justice and we want to go on that way which will ensure poverty alleviation. Tax money should be spent on people’s health, education, treatment and maintenance of peace. Shaheed Bhutto gave two things nationalization and land reforms but now Zardari is talking about the mistakes of nationalization.”

She said feudals started doing their own jobs in the name of PPP. She said world was changing now adding few days ago Israeli prime minister was welcomed by India. She said Nehro and Congress party are welcoming Netanyahu which means they have broken their traditions and are watching now towards America. She said it is appreciable that we are now looking towards Russia and China for which we will have to seek support of the masses. 12 resolutions were passed unanimously by raising hands by the participants which include exposing & punishing those hidden hands which are involved in the murder of Shaheed Bhutto and Mir Murtaza Bhutto who fought for the rights of the people. End of  American interference in the internal affairs of Palestine & Syria.
