KARACHI:Pakistan Journalists Safety Coalition – Sindh Chapter – welcomed Thursday announcement of Sindh Minister for Information Saeed Ghani that Pakistan People’s Party government in the province would do special legislation to combat impunity for crimes against journalists and media in the province.
“This announcement is received warmly among the journalist community members and it will restore sense of security as well,” PJSC Sindh chapter chairperson Amir Latif said in a press statement on Thursday.
Saeed Ghani recently addressing a moot said that the Pakistan People’s Party-led government in Sindh province would do legislation to combat impunity and protect journalists.
“Such special legislation would help combat impunity and appointment of special public prosecutor would also help bring perpetrators of crimes against journalists, media workers and media houses to justice,” said Amir Latif.
