SHC directs police to arrest killers of two real brothers soon

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday directed the police to arrest the killers of two Hindu brothers —Dileep Maheshwari and Chandar Maheshwari— and to complete the investigation.

The Maheshwari brothers were shot dead in their shop when they reportedly offered resistance to armed robbers on January 05 in Mithi.

Dileep died on the spot whereas Chandar breathed his last at Mithi Civil Hospital.

The SHC Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Shaikh had taken the suo moto notice and directed the concerned DIG and SSP to submit the report before the court.

In Thursday’s hearing, the Investigating Officer and other police officials appeared and informed the court that hectic efforts were being made to arrest the culprits. “The investigation is under way, the culprits will be arrested and be produced before the court soon,” the IO assured.

Directing the investigators to catch the killers at the earliest, the court put off the hearing to a date that would be announced later by its staff.
