SHC summons DG private schools in students’ harassment case

KARACHI:Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday directed the Director General (DG) Private Schools to appear in personal capacity on next hearing in petition against alleged harassment of students over non-payment of raised fee.

A two-member bench of the SHC heard the case and sought reply from the private school, Education Bay.

Counsel of the petitioner told the court that despite the court orders, schools administration was demanding extra fees and students were being harassed over the non-payment of extra fees.

He said an application has already been pending pertaining the extra fees. ‘’Until the final decision of larger bench is not given, the students should not be harassed.”

Education Bay school management told the court that applicants had not submitted any fee since September. The school management rejected the harassment allegations and sought time for submitting its reply.

The petitioner’s counsel said they will submit fee, if they will given last fee approval, the bench directed the school management to provide the last fees structure to the applicants.

The court, later, adjourned the hearing till 19th December.
