SHCC organizes awareness program for homeopathic doctors

KARACHI:A consultative meeting and awareness program was conducted with stakeholders by Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) officials from Directorate Clinical Governance and Trainings on 13th February ‘2019, at Gulshan-e-Maymar, Karachi.

This awareness session comprised of a brief discussion on the aims and objectives of Sindh Healthcare Commission. It also highlighted the Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) for homeopathic and clinics’ measurable criteria in detail, enunciating why is it necessary for every homeopath clinic to ensure that proper measures of quality management are observed.

The session comprised of homeopath doctors registered with National Council of Homeopathy and emphasized on their registration with SHCC. This session was organized in collaboration with Ash Welfare Organization.

A meeting was also held between Directors of Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) and Directorate of Clinical Governance and Training, SHCC regarding hospital waste disposal .KMC informed SHCC of waste segregation problem of few renowned HCEs’. Hospital waste is reported as being sold by hospitals to people who either reuse the plastic and the sharps or recycle them and are of major cause for spreading infection.

The other Directorate’s functions include: In Directorate of Anti-quackery, a total 44 applications for de-sealing have been processed by its Inspection and Enforcement team. Directorate of Anti-quackery has planned massive crackdown in multiple districts of Sindh with Stakeholders.

The Board of Commissioners approved SoPs for Inspection and Enforcement cell of Anti Quackery Directorate.

In Directorate of Registration, 74 new applications have been received for provisional licensing and 70 registration certificates have been issued in a week. The inspection team of SHCC has conducted inspection of Memon Medical Institute, Safoora Goth and Civil Hospital Karachi.

The Directorate of Complaint visited Dow University regarding complaint and inspection is done of Arooba Hospital and Al-Shifa Medical Centre, Kazi Ahmed.
