Special drive to rehabilitate Thar soon

KARACHI: Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah has appreciated the role of NGOs in providing help to the human being in various fields.

He was presiding a meeting of the prominent NGOs representatives viz Begam Shahnaz Shahid Hamid Chairman Red Crescent Sindh, Faiz Khan Chairman Rotary Humanitarian Foundation, Eminent Social Leader Aziz Memon, Dr. Qaiser Sajjad Secretary General PMA (Pakistan Medical Association) Dr. Farhan Essa Abdullah CEO Dr. Essa Laboratories and Dr. Tayeb Asim.

Welcoming the eminent, the Chief Secretary noted that role of NGOs in rehabilitation of Thar is highly appreciable. Now in addition to the routine rehabilitation services to facilitate the Thar people, the Sindh government plans to organize an special drive for rehabilitation of Thar, in association with NGOs for a month, to provide water, food and health services. He invited the participants to join hands with the Sindh government in this noble cause.

Shahnaz Shahid Hamid, at once offered to furnish 11 ambulances including one fully equipped mobile dispensary. Dr. Qaiser Sajjad said that PMA will depute 22 male and female doctors for the ambulance @ 2 each ambulance. Other participants also pledged to do the needful, including provision of medicines with the cooperation of pharmaceutical companies.
