Karachi:Pakistan emerging team recorded a convincing 225-run triumph against Hong Kong Emerging Team in the opening match of ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2018 here Thursday at National Stadium.
Pakistan batted first in the match and put on board a big total of 366-3 in 50 overs. Sahibzada Farhan scored 130 runs off 125 balls with the help of 15 boundaries san two sixes. Ali Imran took 105 balls to score 107 runs off 11 boundaries and a six.
Khushdil Shah played a whirlwind 83-run knock off 40 balls with the help of nine boundaries and four sixes. Mohammad Rizwan contributed unbeaten 33 runs off 26 balls. Aizaz Khan picked two wickets for 92 runs for Hong Kong while Ehsan Nawaz took one wicket for 100 runs.
In response, Hong Kong was bundled out for 141 in 34 overs. Shahid Wasif put some resistance with his 81-ball 59 runs. Mohammad Ilyas hauled five for 35 runs while Khushdil Shah picked two wickets cheaply for five runs.
At Southend Club Cricket Stadium, UAE thrashed Bangladesh by 97 runs. UAE batted first and put on board 267 runs 49.4 overs. Ashfaq Ahmed (98 runs) and Ghulam Shabber (52 runs) batted well for the side. Shoriful Islam and Khaled Ahmed bowled well capturing four and three wickets for 55 and 65 runs respectively.
In reply, Bangladesh was bowled out for 170 runs in 36.5 overs. Mizanur Rahman was the top scorer for the side with 43 runs. Imran Haider and Ahmed Raza captured four wickets each.
