Sports: Softball: NSA to plant 20,000 trees: Tehmina Asif

Karachi:Chairperson National Softball Academy (NSA) Tehmina Asif has said that NSA would plant 20,000 trees as its contribution to Pakistan Olympic Association (POA)’s movement of “Green Pakistan”.

“It is a very good initiative from POA Chairman Arif Hasan to start healthy atmosphere, free from pollution campaign, which is also a part of Olympic Agenda 2020 and United Nation Organization (UNO),” Tehmina said.

She added that federations, associations and players who are affiliated with POA should come forward to contribute their share in POA’s initiative for a greener Pakistan.

“We can achieve the goal through our collective efforts,” she said while visiting National Softball Academy. Director NSA Mohammad Nasir, Naheed Liaquat, Zaheer Hussain, Pervaiz Ahmed Shaikh, Faraz Ejaz and Shahid Aftab were also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, she requested players to extend their helping hand in planting trees and contribute their share in the vision of greener Pakistan.

She further said that in collaboration with Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP), NSA would organize different competitions throughout the country and on the sidelines would propagate the message of greener Pakistan. It would collaborate with other associations, federations and government departments and NGOs to achieve its goal.

Meanwhile, shoe also said that NSA was working on to start paying monthly stipends to its coaches so that they remain motivated and perform their duties well.
