Sports: Softball: SFP to organize Inter-City Softball League in Karachi

Karachi:Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) Secretary Asif Azeem has said that the first Inter-City Softball League will be held this year in October here in Karachi.

Teams of Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta and host Karachi will be seen in action during the tournament.

Every team will have two foreign players in their side. Moreover, coaches and umpires from Dubai and Malaysia will also be invited,” As if said while speaking at Karachi Parsi Institute Ground during the opening ceremony of Pakistan Day Junior Women Softball Championship. The championship has been organized by Sindh Softball Association (SSA) in collaboration with Sports for Life, Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) and DMC South.

SOA Secretary General Ahmed Ali Rajput, SSA Secretary Zeeshan Merchant, Shahzad Talat Qazi, Mohammad Nasir, Murad Hussain and others were also present on the occasion.

As if added that this inter-city league will prepare young players prepare for international events.

While speaking about the Pakistan Day event, Asif said that such events will help find new and young talent.

Meanwhile, in the first match of the tournament, Karachi Angels defeated Karachi Dolphins by two runs while Karachi Queens defeated Karachi Pearls by one run after a thrilling contest.
