Sports: Volleyball: Pakistan begins Asian Volleyball campaign today

Karachi:Pakistan Volleyball will face a strong South Korean side today (Friday) in their opening match of Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship, which will run from September 13-21 in Tehran.

The 13-member squad will be led by captain Aimal Khan. Other team members are Asif, Kashif, Mubashir, Fakhir, Sheraz, Idrees, Bilal Khan, Nasir, Zaheer, Haider, Usman Faryad and Murad Jehan. The team has already reached Tehran.

Pakistan volleyball team’s Korean head coach Kim, assistant coaches Saeed Ahmed and Fazal Ahmed, Trainer Akber Ali and referee Ubaidullah Shah are also accompanying the team.

Teams from a total of 16 countries will feature in the Asian Championships. Pakistan has been placed in Group D with South Korea, Indonesia and Kuwait.

After a match with South Korea, Pakistan will then face Indonesia on September 14 and Kuwait on September 15.
