Sri Lanka’s Independence Day celebrated in Karachi

KARACHI:On the occasion of the 71st Independence Day of Sri Lanka, an special programme was organized here at a hotel.

Sindh Minister for Energy Imtiaz Shaikh was the chief guest on this occasion, while a large number of diplomats, businessmen, political leaders, social workers and others attended the event.

Sri Lankan Consul General GL Gnanatheva welcomed the guests. In his welcome speech, CG highlighted the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. He said Pakistan and Sri Lanka enjoy very good relations. The volume of bilateral traded is very good and in favour of Pakistan. However there is huge potential to increase trade volume between the two countries.

On this occasion, Sri Lanka Food and Cultural Festival 2019 – ‘Inspirations from Sri Lankan Cuisine’ was inaugurated.
