Students protest against bus incident in Bangladesh

KARACHI:The students of Karachi University’s (KU) department of public administration on Tuesday held a protest against the unfortunate incident happened in Bangladesh where two students lost their lives in a road accident.

They were of opinion that rather than giving punishment, Bangladeshi government was supporting the culprits which was causing rage and anger among the students community of Bangladesh and the whole world. They also condemned the shutdown of internet service and social media by the Bangladeshi government.

KU’s Assistant Professor and Road Safety Ambassador Dr Salman Zubair said that human lives are very precious irrespective of nationality. Students are an asset to the nations; it is highly unfortunate that 60 percent of road accident victims are youth. Students must play their role in promoting civic sense among our students. He appealed to the newly elected members of assemblies to devise a sound and comprehensive traffic management and road safety mechanism.
