Three political activists among 17 apprehended

KARACHI: Sindh Rangers on Wednesday claimed to have arrested 17 alleged criminals, including three activists of a political party, from different parts of the city during search operations.

According to rangers’ spokesman, a rangers’ team carried out a raid in Zaman town area and apprehended three activists of a political party MQM-London. The accused were identified as Nasir Akbar alias Builder, Farooq Ahmed and Mohammad Hussain.

Separately, a rangers team conducted search operation in Kalakot area and detained four Lyari gang war accused.

During search operations in Landhi, Awami Colony, FB area, Bilal Colony and Zaman town, the Rangers arrested nine street criminals and an alleged extortionist.

The spokesman further said that the arrested criminals were allegedly involved target killing, extortion, robberies and drug peddling.

They also recovered illegal weapons, contrabands and drugs from their possessions.
