LAHORE: A 19-year-old youth was killed when a kite string cut his throat at Shalimar Link Road here on Sunday.
According to a report, youth Asad, a resident of Mushtaq Colony of the metropolis was on his way to somewhere on his bike when the kite string cut his throat. As a result, he suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.
The body was shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs. A mourning atmosphere prevailed in the house of the youth. No case could be filed till filing this report.
Lahore police have also failed to curb kite flying incidents in the city despite announcing it as the topmost priority. The authorities had vowed to curb the dangerous practice of flying kites, but there is no progress yet as deaths and injuries continued due to kite string.
