10kg hashish being smuggled to Karachi seized

Karachi: Sindh Excise Department has foiled an attempt to smuggle hashish from Balochistan to Karachi.

According to department sources, Assistant Excise and Taxation Officer Zia-ul-Islam Pathan, along with his team, recovered 10 kg hashish during a search of a suspicious Mehran car at Jackabad Excise check post. The hashish was recovered from Mehran car bearing number BCC-325.

An accused Fazlur Rehman, resident of Mastung, was arrested and a case has been registered against him while investigation is underway. The vehicle used in the hashish smuggling has also been seized. On the successful operation, Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla has congratulated the officers and directed them to continue the crackdown on drug dealers, asking them under no circumstances should drug dealers be allowed to enter into Sindh.
