1260 types of saplings planted at Governor’s House

KARACHI:Sindh Governor Imran Ismail inaugurated a pilot project for rapid afforestation using Japanese “Miyawaki” technology in the Governor’s House under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s One Billion Tree Program.

Under this scheme, 1260 different types of plants had been planted on one acre of land in the Governor House. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Governor of Sindh said that Miyawaki is a method of rapid tree planting developed by Akira Miyawaki, a Japanese botanist, after 60 years of research.

It’s primary purpose is to contribute to the efforts to improve the climate of Karachi, through which more and more trees can be planted in small and small space, he said.
