Police authorities have successfully foiled a plan to distribute a large quantity of illegal liquor in Gedar Pur and its adjoining areas following a targeted police operation.

As a result of the crackdown conducted today, two individuals were arrested and 38 liters of prohibited liquor were seized. An accused named Riaz was arrested from the Charu Bhatti area, from whom authorities recovered 20 liters of liquor.

In another similar operation, another 18 liters of liquor were recovered from the possession of the second accused, named Shaukat.

According to police sources, these individuals had schemed to supply the illegal substance in the 45/SP and 10/SP areas of the town. The plan was foiled due to the timely intervention of law enforcement agencies.

Separate cases have been registered against both individuals, and a formal investigation is underway for further inquiry into the matter.

District Police Officer (DPO) Pakpattan, Asad Sarfaraz, said that “indiscriminate action will continue against elements involved in heinous businesses like liquor selling.” He further added that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
