KP CM directs reconstructing Anti-Corruption establishment at earliest

Islamabad, November 30, 2020 (PPI-OT): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed reconstructing Anti-Corruption establishment at the earliest. Presiding over a meeting in Peshawar, he directed the concerned authorities to present the new draft of the provincial anti-corruption establishment by all means within three weeks.

The Chief Minister said the provincial government has made itself accountable to the public by passing laws of Right to Services and Right to Information. He said the government has introduced reforms and a system of reward and punishment in all its departments.

Balochistan Government to prepare second five-year education sector plan to improve literacy rate

Islamabad, November 30, 2020 (PPI-OT): Balochistan government will set up the second education sector plan for five years to improve literacy rate in the province ensuring a bright future for the younger generation of the province. According to an official of education department, the plan would be formed in collaboration with the Global Partnership for Education and United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), which would be tabled soon to the provincial cabinet for approval.

He told that the Chief Minister has directed to increase literacy rate in the province. The Chief Minister also directed that appointments should be made at the district and union council level on contract basis to utilize the capabilities of the graduates. He said that this process would not only improve the quality of education but also provide ample employment opportunities to the graduates.

EU, UNHCR to provide Euro 10 million support for poor, refugees: Envoy

Islamabad, November 30, 2020 (PPI-OT): European Union has assured to help the most vulnerable people in Pakistan by providing basic amenities including clean drinking water, healthcare and sanitation in the prevailing situation of COVID-19. EU Ambassador to Pakistan Androulla Kaminara in an interview said EU has signed a memorandum of understanding with UNHCR and committed to provide 10 million Euro to help Afghan refugees and communities in Pakistan.

Shibli urges PDM to avoid instigating people for spreading violence

Islamabad, November 30, 2020 (PPI-OT): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has urged the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leadership, to avoid instigating people for spreading violence in the country. Talking to a private news channel, he said the direction given by Maulana Fazlur Rehman to workers and students of seminaries for creating trouble is regrettable.

Commenting on the outcome of public meetings being organized by PDM, he said that public has rejected the ideology of Opposition parties and they will not come out for attending gathering in Multan. In reply to a question, the Information Minister said it is impossible to stop accountability against the corrupt.

Pakistan is safest country for minorities: Religious Minister

Islamabad, November 30, 2020 (PPI-OT): Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony Noor-ul-Haq Qadri has said that Pakistan is the safest country for minorities to live their lives in tranquillity. Addressing a ceremony held in connection with the 551st birth anniversary of founder of Sikh religion Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Nanka Sahib today (Monday), he said that followers of all religions are equal citizens of Pakistan.

Noorul Haq Qadri said that opening of Kartarpur Corridor is a gift from the government of Pakistan to Sikh community. He said all religions of the world have spread the message of love, peace, harmony, brotherhood and tolerance among the masses.

Pakistan reports 2,839 new COVID-19 cases, 40 deaths in last 24 hours

Islamabad, November 30, 2020 (PPI-OT): As the second wave of Coronavirus intensifies in Pakistan, 40 more deaths and 2,839 new cases of infection were reported during the last 24 hours. The ratio of positive cases has also risen to eight point five percent in a day. The death toll in the country has reached 8,025 while 398,024 patients stand recovered from the pandemic. There are now 48,576 active cases in the country.

Nationwide anti-polio drive of varied duration begins today

Islamabad, November 30, 2020 (PPI-OT): A nationwide anti-polio drive of varied duration begins on Monday. According to Pakistan Polio Eradication Program, over 39 million children under the age of 5 years will be administered anti-polio vaccine drops across the country.

It said 285,000 polio teams have been constituted for this drive. The parents have been appealed to contact Health Protection Helpline 1166 or message to Polio WhatsApp 03467776546 for any query in this regard.
