President to preside over meeting on measures for protection of women rights today

Islamabad, December 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): President Dr Arif Alvi will preside over a meeting on national measures for protection of women rights in Islamabad today (Wednesday). The meeting will review proposals for promotion of economic, social and legal independence of women. It will deliberate on the issues of women’s inheritance rights, economic independence, access to education and health facilities, the role of women in media environment and its effects on them.

Pakistan to continue its relations with world on basis of equality: Foreign Minister

Islamabad, December 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Pakistan will continue its diplomatic relationships with the world on equality basis. Talking to people during his visit to Multan, he made it clear that there would be no compromise on the country’s integrity and national interests.

The Foreign Minister said Pakistan has clear and historic viewpoint on Palestine issue. He said the journey of progress under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan would continue. He said the country’s prosperity is indigestible to the Pakistan Democratic Movement.

Government committed to promote reward, punishment policy to achieve progress: Shibli

Islamabad, December 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz says the government is committed to promote reward and punishment policy to achieve progress in every institution of the country. In an interview with a private television channel, he said there is a dire need to evolve a mechanism of self-accountability for improving the system.

The Information Minister said the government has made efforts to identify elements behind sugar and petroleum crisis. He said the credit goes to the ruling party to public report about sugar mafia. He said the inquiry of petroleum products mishandling is in progress and it would be public within three to four days.

Corona vaccine to be available in Pakistan by March next: Sultan

Islamabad, December 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services, Dr Faisal Sultan says corona vaccine would be available in Pakistan by March next. In an interview with a private television channel, he said the government is in touch with three companies for purchasing the coronavirus vaccine.

The Special Assistant said priority would be given in vaccination to health workers and people of above sixty five years age. Commenting on second wave of COVID-19, he said it is more dangerous and has affected a large number of people around the world. He urged the general public to adopt the SOPs to protect from the virus and contain the pandemic.

President appreciates to overcome current account balance deficit

Islamabad, December 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): President Dr Arif Alvi has appreciated the country’s progress in overcoming current account balance deficit which now stands surplus. The president on his twitter handle posted the chart showing Pakistan’s progress towards overcoming the current account balance deficit and a positive current account surplus.

The President also retweeted a graph of State Bank of Pakistan, showing the positive indicators along with his tweet. According to the tweet, Pakistan’s current account balance has posted a surplus of 447 million dollars last month against a deficit of 326 million dollars in the same month last year.

Yusuf reaffirms Pakistan’s support for an economically thriving Afghanistan

Islamabad, December 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): Special Assistant on National Security Dr. Moeed Yusuf has reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for an economically thriving Afghanistan. Chairing a session of Pakistan-Afghanistan Track-II dialogue in Islamabad today (Wednesday), he reiterated Prime Minister Imran Khan’s belief that there is no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan.

The Special Assistant said Pakistan and Afghanistan are neighbouring countries with shared interests. He said Pakistan has an unwavering belief that economic prosperity for both nations is interlinked. He said peace in Afghanistan is vital for connectivity with Central Asia, from which both the countries will prosper.

Shehryar urges Kashmiri social media activists to expose evil designs of Indian regime

Islamabad, December 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): Chairman Kashmir Committee Shehryar Khan Afridi has urged the Kashmiri social media activists to utilize all their potentials to expose evil designs of Indian regime. Addressing Kashmiri social media and youth activists from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, he urged the bloggers and Vloggers to sensitize the World about the plight of Kashmiris languishing in concentration camps in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Shehryar Afridi advised the youth to prepare themselves for liberation of Kashmir at appropriate time from the fascist Modi’s grip. He said the Kashmiri freedom fighters like Masarat Alam Bhat, Asia Andrabi and Syed Shabbir Ahmed Shah are facing hardships in jails just to get Kashmir free from Indian colonial regime.
