KP CM directs authorities to select site for establishment of Forensic Lab

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has given a final timeline to all departments to frame rules under the Acts passed by the incumbent government and previous government within one month in order to implement the laws in its true spirit for public welfare.

He also directed the quarters concerned to select site on priority basis for establishment of Forensic Lab in the province. The cabinet expressed its satisfaction over PTI Government’s victory in the cantonment Boards recent elections stating that the trend and mass support is indicative of PTIs Government performance. Chief Minister added that masses support for provincial government is still intact and PTI will be triumphant in next general election as well.

This, he said while presiding over a meeting of the provincial cabinet held here on Monday. Cabinet members, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, SMBR and administrative Secretaries attended the meeting. Chief Minister stressed upon the cabinet members to effectively respond to negative propaganda and aware the masses about the steps of provincial government undertaken for the welfare of the masses.

Briefing the Media about the decisions of the cabinet Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information, Higher Education, Kamran Bangash said that the cabinet was informed in detail about the acts passed and rules made under there during the tenure of the incumbent government. From September 2018 till date, provincial Assembly passed 52 Acts, out of which rules have been formed and notified under 13 laws so far, rules are being made under 29 Law whereas 10 Acts are statuary in nature which did not require Rules.

The cabinet also approved amendments in KPPRA Rules to ensure quality based procurements and timely disposal/leasing out of Government Assets. The cabinet also approved Small Industries Development Board (SIDB) Service Rules and the chief minister directed the authorities concerned to brief the cabinet about the performance of the board.

Kamran Bangash also briefed the Media about the affordable Housing Scheme, one of the Flagship Project of the Government whereby 3.5 Marla plots will be allotted on nominal charges to the poor segment of the society having less than 50 thousand of Income per month whereas. Banks loans will also be providing on easy terms for construction of houses which will be recoverable in 10 years. Total construction and Development Cost per House is calculated as 1.8 million inclusive of subsidy of Rs. 0.3 Million which will be provided by Federal Government. Initially one site in District Charsadda has been selected for the purpose. To extend the same to all Divisions, a committee has been constituted to select suitable sites on state land.

Kamran Bangash further stated that the cabinet deliberated on the matter to engage International Finance Corporation a subsidiary of World Bank for conducting feasibility study for the establishment of Four Tertiary care hospitals in three regions and Peshawar through Public-Private Partnership. The cabinet constituted a committee to chalk out modalities for the purpose. The said committee will also prepare recommendations for the promotion of Medical Tourism in the context of Geo-Strategic position of the province. The cabinet also approved establishment of Haripur Urban Development Authority.

Kamran Bangash revealed that local bodies elections was also part of the agenda and the cabinet decided to hold the coming local government elections in phased-manner starting with VC/NC elections that too in staggered manner, keeping in view the weather conditions. Local Government Elections for Tehsil level will be held after VC/NC elections. Staggered and phase-wise elections will first be held in plan areas of the province.

The cabinet also approved establishment of Police Lines in Miran Shah and Jani Khel through single sourcing. The cabinet also approved release of wheat to flour mills from October this year. The Cabinet approved supplementary grant of Rs. one Billion for the construction of 760 schools destroyed during earthquake. Likewise, the cabinet approved a grant of Rs. 80 Million for the construction of Judicial Complex in Pattan, Kohistan.

The cabinet also approved Directory Retirement Rules 2021 and amendments in Child Protection and Welfare Rules 2016. Under Child Protection amendments Rules, Institute Management Committees will be established to ensure better Management of Institutes Like “Zamung Kor”. The Cabinet also approved nomination of Aamir Zaki as CEO WSS Abbottabad.

CITY: Missing girl found dead in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A six-year-old girl, who went missing from Gujrati Mohalla of the city, was found dead here Monday.

According to details, the girl’s heirs had registered a report at Tando Yousuf police station stating that their girl Kaneeza, daughter of Shaukat Mewati, went out of her house in the evening for playing in Gujrati Mohalla of the city but went missing.

The parents said that the police did not search the girl, however, they searched and found her dead today. The body was shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs. A mourning atmosphere prevailed in the Mohalla.

Govt / CITY: Doctors protest against blackmailing

LARKANA: Members of Young Doctors Association (YDA) boycotted their OPD duties at the Paeds Medicine Department, popularly known here as Chandka Children Hospital, on Monday against blackmailing by a so-called social activist, making video of a senior doctor and making it viral on social media. They held a protest demonstration and then staged a sit-in at the main gate of the hospital while holding large placards in their hands and shouting slogans against the high-handedness of the activist.

Dr. Fazal Khoso, Dr. Fahim Khushk, Dr. Zaman Malano and others said that three day ago a so-called social activist entered the hospital and forcibly made a video of the associate professor Dr. Shanti Lal and made it viral on social media in which he alleged that the relevant senior doctor is not examining the child patients coming to the hospital instead he is advising them to come to private medical centres which is baseless and concocted allegation against highly respected senior specialist doctor of children who has been serving the indoor and outdoor patients wholeheartedly.

They said we doctors serve the ailing humanity without any discrimination, caste or creed but through a conspiracy we are being blackmailed by unscrupulous persons who are unaware of the treatment facilities and rush of the patients at the hospital. They said this attitude will never be tolerated and demanded stern legal action against the so-called social activist named Arsalan Habib Chandio. They also demanded that such acts should be stopped forthwith so that doctors could be able to discharge their fundamental duties diligently, honestly and dedicatedly.

Meanwhile, attendants of the indoor ailing children of the same hospital also held a separate protest demonstration Shaikh Zaid Turn where they shouted slogans to save lives of their admitted children.

The protesters alleged that their kids are admitted in the hospital but due to the boycott of the duty doctors medical treatment has not yet been provided to them either by the doctors or by the dispensers. They claimed that the condition of their newborns has become precarious due to the boycott and their lives are in danger. They alleged that five children have died in the hospital today. They demanded an end to the boycott so that the precious lives of their indisposed kids could be saved.

Anti-polio campaign begin in Peshawar from 17 September

PESHAWAR: Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud has said that all available resources would be utilized to make the upcoming polio campaign a complete success and urged residents to join hands with the administration to make the area polio free.

“The people of Peshawar Division should join hands with the administration to make the polio campaign a success starting from September 17. All resources should be utilized for the success of the polio campaign in the five districts of Peshawar Division,” the commissioner observed while presiding over a meeting of the Task Force about preparations for the upcoming polio campaign.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners of Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mohmand and Khyber Districts of Peshawar Division, District Police Officers, District Health Officers, WHO representatives and senior officials of other concerned agencies.

The commissioner also expressed satisfaction over the decreasing number of refusal cases and added that each individual of the society should play his part to wipe out the crippling disease from the area. He said that efforts should be made to convince parents and all the refusal cases should be addressed through Jirga amicably, he added.

He said that he would be personally visiting sensitive areas along revenue and health officials to ensure that each child was administered anti-polio drops. He also directed that foolproof security arrangements should be made to complete the drive successfully.

CM review the progress of KICHCH

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has directed the authorities concerned to complete the first phase of the ongoing project of Khyber Institute of Child Health and Children Hospital (KICHCH) by June next year.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held the previous day to review the progress on the establishment of Khyber Institute of Child Health and Children’s Hospital. He described the project of Khyber Institute of Child Health and Children Hospital as important for people of the province.

He said the provincial government should ensure the provision of financial resources for the completion of this important project of public welfare. Provincial Health Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra, Health Secretary Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Amjad Ali Khan, Hospital Director Hayatabad Medical Complex Dr Shehzad Akbar and other concerned officials attended the meeting.

Briefing the meeting about the progress of the project, it was informed that 90 percent of the construction work of the project had been completed and the first phase of the project would be completed by June 2022. While the second phase would be completed by December 2022, the third phase of the project would be completed by June 2023.

CITY: Levies arrested murder accused

KOHLU: Levies force Kohlu claimed to have arrested one alleged accused on the charge of committing double murder in an operation conducted in District Kohlu of Balochistan province on Monday.

According to Incharge, Quick Response Force (QRF), Sibbi Zone, Kohlu, Risaldar Major, Shair Muhammad Marri, Quick Response Force (QRF) of levies force, Kohlu apprehended one alleged accused, who had gunned down his elder son and younger daughter-in-law in the name of honour, in an operation conducted in Kohlu area of the province. The alleged accused was shifted to levies station, Saddar, District Kohlu for further investigation.

Karachi, Image Pakistan Limited informed Pakistan Stock Exchange that Board of Directors meeting of the Company will be held on September 20, 2021 at Karachi to consider the matters other than financial results.

Further, the company has declared the closed period from September 13, 2021 to September 20, 2021.

“Tri Star Polyester Limited is a Polyester Filament Yarn manufacturing plant established in 1992 and is situated at S.I.T.E., Karachi having a capacity of 4,200 tons/annum based on 75 denier.

The symbol “TRPOL” is being used by the stock exchanges for the Tri Star Polyester Limited.”
