21 outlaws held by Islamabad police: drugs, liquor and weapons seized

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police arrested 21 criminals, including drug peddlers, liquor sellers and gamblers, from different areas of the city and recovered 1320 grams heroin, 3447 grams hashish, eight liquor bottles and one 9mm, four 30 bore pistols with ammunition from their possession, according to a statement issued by police spokesman on Monday.

According to the details, Islamabad police accelerated crackdown against criminal elements in order to reduce crime rate in the federal capital. In this regard special police teams from different police stations are formed to take stern action against those anti-social elements.

Sihala police arrested 09 accused namely Sartaj, Mazhar Shah, Dedar Khan, Waqar Ahmed, Muhammad Sarfaraz, Muhammad Arshad, Muzammil Habib, Waqas Ahmed and Irfan Iqbal involved in drug peddling, possessing illegal weapons, and gambling. Police recovered 1350 gram hashish, one 30 bore pistol and 52600 cash from their possession.

Similarly, Lohi Bher police team arrested an accused IFEANTICH UKWU involved in selling drugs in education institutions and recovered 340 gram hashish from his possession. Likewise, Ramna police teams arrested two accused namely Adnan Guraiz and Adnan Ali and recovered 110 gram heroin and 125 gram hashish from their possession.

Moreover, Golra police teams crackdown on drug peddlers and arrest three drug peddlers namely Sohail, Imran Taj and Syed Rahat and recover 710 gram hashish from their possession. Nilore and Shehzad Town police teams arrested two accused namely Atish Hussain and Amir Khan during snap checking and recovered 1210 gram heroin and one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from their possession.

Furthermore, Khana and Noon police teams arrested two accused involved in selling liquor and possessing illegal weapons namely Hammad and Rashid and recovered 08 bottles liquor and one 30 bore pistols from their possession. Sabzi Mandi and Kohsar police teams arrested two accused namely Fazal Qadir and Aqib Javed and recovered one iron punch and 9mm pistols with ammunition from their possession.

Cases against all the nominated accused have been registered and further investigations are underway. IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has appreciated this overall performance of the police teams and further ordered to intensify the crackdown. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard” he added.
