21 SMIU employees get promotion letters

Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, Vice Chancellor of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) distributed promotion letters among university’s 21 officers and faculty members under the Time Scale Policy, under the decision of SMIUs’ Syndicate taken in its 30th meeting on 19th September 2024. Among the promoted employees 19 were promoted from BPS17 to BPS18, one from BPS16 to BPS17 and one from BPS19 to BPS20.

Those who were promoted from BPS17 to BPS18 were Mr. Kamran Obaid, Mr. Ghulam Ali Ramejo, Mr. Sunil Kumar Langhani, Mr. Asif Khan, Mr. Imtiaz Hussain Mahessar, Mr. Muhammad Kashif, Mr. Fayaz Ali Tunio, Ms. Sadaf Jamal, Mr. Imran Ali Dehraj, Mr. Tariq Aziz, Ms. Syeda Ayesha Urooj Naqvi, Mr. Mohammad Khalid Zai, Mr. Kashif Jan, Mr. Shahid Ahmed Mahar, Mr. Muhammad Suhail Baloch, Ms. Sundas Nisar, Mr. Salman Ali, Mr. Sadam Khan and Syed Muhammad Belal Qadri, while Ms. Najmus Sahar was promoted from BPS 16 to BPS 17 and Anwar Ali, from BPS 19 to BPS 20.

The Vice Chancellor distributed these promotion letters on the occasion of annual dinner event which was jointly hosted by teachers’ association and officers’ association of SMIU. The representatives of other two associations of SMIU as teachers’ association of SMIU Model School and employees’ welfare association were also present on the occasion.

While addressing the gathering at the inner courtyard of the Main Building of the university Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai talked on professionalism, commitment, sincerity with the job, honesty and hardworking. He said SMIU’s absolute majority is contributing a lot towards development and progress of SMIU with dedication. This is why, the university is moving forward day by day. He was of the view that research is a basic indicator of any university’s evolution and development; thus, he wants to see more progress in the field of research at SMIU.

He further opined that it is seemed that in the near future all public sector universities will receive lowest budget due to economic conditions of the country, keeping that bitter fact in the mind, we have to generate our own resources and minimize the expenditures as the university could meet its necessary requirements. ‘I told you these all things in the light of my about fifteen years’ experience of heading different public sector universities and I think I am one of the senior most serving vice chancellors of the country, therefore I foresee the situation of the coming days in that way, hence we have to prepare ourselves for future challenges and deliver our performance in a better way,’ Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai concluded.

Mr. Asif Hussain Samo, representative of teachers and Mr. Abdul Waheed Jatoi, representative of officers also delivered speeches and emphasized on the unity of teachers, officers and other employees for development of Sindh Madressatul Islam University and its employees.

The event was attended by deans of SMIU Dr. Zahid Ali Channar, Dr. Aftab Ahmed Shaikh, Dr. Jamshed Adil Halepoto, chairpersons of different academic departments, faculty, heads of different administrative sections, officers and other employees.
