23rd Meeting of Enlistment Committee of Health and OTC Division held

Islamabad, January 23, 2018 (PPI-OT):23rd Meeting of Enlistment Committee of Health and OTC Division was held here today. In this meeting 23 local manufacturers who passed the inspection were granted enlistment whereas one manufacturer who failed inspection was rejected. Thus all pending cases have been cleared. To facilitate quality products it has been decided that all local and imported manufacturers be advised to produce at least three trial batches and submit actual formula and test results to speed up scientific evaluation, this will ensure that only quality products with actual data will be enlisted. This will help eliminate spurious or substandard drugs from the market.

In this regard local manufacturers will be assisted to acquire quality raw materials legally and technical help will be provided to them from the Division during formulation process. The data so submitted by firms will be distributed to EEC members through emails in real time so as to facilitate early disposal of cases. Further EEC has suggested to revise Application forms to make it more products specific and revise check list accordingly. Services of government laboratories such as PCSIR will be used to test raw herbs for proper identifications.
