The 54th martyrdom anniversary of Sowar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed Nishan-e-Haider was observed on Wednesday. The country’s top military leadership on Wednesday paid tribute to the bravery of Nishan-e-Haider recipient Sowar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed on his 54th martyrdom anniversary.
Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf jointly reiterated their collective resolve to pay homage to the sacrifices of national heroes.
The heads of the armed forces said that the martyrs have illuminated the path to a strong and secure Pakistan by sacrificing their lives.
Sowar Muhammad Hussain was martyred on 10 December 1971 after being hit by a machine gun bullet in the chest during the war of that year.
During the 1971 war, he demonstrated exceptional courage on multiple fronts. He is remembered for the significant feat of identifying the positions of enemy tanks near Harar Khurd village, which is a testament to his bravery.
He was born on 18 January 1949 in the village of Jatli, Gujjar Khan, and his legacy is remembered with honor and respect for his great sacrifice.
