6% withholding tax treated as minimum Tax is totally unjustified, Chairman PCDMA

Karachi, November 13, 2018 (PPI-OT): Mr. Shahid Vaseem, Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association ( PCDMA ), demanded to remove the differences between the commercial importers of Industrial Raw Materials and Industries. He said that commercial importers play an important role in providing the raw materials to export oriented Industries in order to enable them to deliver their export goods on time.

He was Speaking during a meeting in Faisalabad, where Co-ordinator Faisalabad Mr. Ejaz Saleem presented shield to Chairman. Atif Munir, Mohammad Ayub Sabir, Mohammad Asim, Rana Ahmed Aman, Misbahuddin, Sheikh Ziaullah, Mian Shoaib Saleem, Mian Mohsin Ayub, Khawaja Jawed Ahmed, Dr Ejaz Nisar Sheikh and Khawaja Qamar Majeed were also present on the occasion.

Chairman PCDMA offered full support to members of Faisalabad regarding the problems and solutions faced by them. He also demanded to Minister of Finance and the Chairman FBR to restore final tax regime and said minimum 6% withholding tax regime on import stage is totally unjustified.

Shahid Vaseem further said that, commercial importers pay cash in advance at the import stage, So after payment of advance tax opening account for audit is not acceptable. Old final Tax regime should be restored for commercial importers of industrial raw materials.
