Women robbers hypnotise family to sweep house in Hyderabad

Karachi: In a strange incident of house robbery, unidentified women made off with cash, gold and other valuables worth millions of rupees from the house of a shoe trader after hypnotizing the family members in the jurisdiction of Fort police station, Hyderabad on Thursday.

Wife of Sohail Sheikh, the shoe trader, told the police that some women, that she knew not who they were, came to the house.

“On the pretext of performing some ‘miracles’, the women hypnotized me so powerfully that I myself handed over 20 tola of gold and cash and other valuables worth Rs4 million, which was our lifetime savings, to them,” she added.

Hyderabad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amjad Sheikh said that such gangs had carried out robberies of the same kind in different areas.

“Many of them have been arrested, and the stolen valuables have also been recovered from their possession,” he added.

“In order to avoid such incidents, people should be alert as well as be wary of such persons who enter the houses on the pretext of some offer,” he advised.
