ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court of the federal capital on Tuesday discharged veteran journalist Ayaz Amir from the murder case of his Canadian national daughter-in-law, Sarah Inam.
The court rejected the police’s request to extend physical remand of Ayaz Amir by another five days and held that there was no evidence against Ayaz Amir in the police record.
Ayaz Amir was arrested on Saturday night for his alleged involvement in the murder case, a day after his son, Shahnawaz Amir, was arrested on allegations of killing his wife at a farmhouse in Chak Shahzad Islamabad, where the latter lived along with his mother.
