LARKANA: Sindh Balochistan Rice Millers Association (SBRMA) has released a message on social media about the purchase of wheat for the new year 2023.
In this regard, the Central General Secretary (SBRMA, Asad Ali Tunio, addressed the rice millers and the government of Sindh and said that the government has announced the new year food policy without hearing us, in which the period has been fixed for procurement of rice (paddy) about which we want to appeal in advance that rice millers are always facing hardships every year as we are always ignored when such meetings are held to make policies.
He said that such an action is ridiculous, we should be invited to all such meetings and our position should be heard and our stance must also be cared about because we are meeting the targets of the government, but on the contrary, food department officials are always looking for different sources of earnings which is why lakhs of tons of wheat spoils in our godowns and this year also, millions of tons were stolen of the government.
He said that it is necessary that we will summarize this matter before the media if need be. He urged Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Faryal Talpur, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Food Minister to take immediate notice of the abuses happening to them and the problems faced by the millers such as the transportation problem, extortion from the trucks and.
He further said that if the targets of the government are not met, then unlawful raids are conducted on our mills ignoring the sanctity of our mills which we will not tolerate at all anymore. He said our stance should be heard otherwise we have the right to protest.
