Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, strong winds and rain with thunder expected

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for possible strong winds and heavy rains in several areas of Pakistan and occupied Jammu and Kashmir today, while the rest of the country is bracing for hot and humid conditions.

Residents of Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, northeastern Balochistan, and southeastern Sindh should prepare for possible rain with strong winds. These weather conditions may disrupt daily activities, requiring residents to be cautious.

In other parts of Pakistan, temperatures are high with no immediate relief in sight. Morning temperatures in major cities are as follows: Islamabad 25°C, Lahore and Peshawar 27°C, while Karachi reached 30°C. Quetta recorded a slightly lower temperature of 24°C, Gilgit 19°C, Murree a pleasant 15°C, and Muzaffarabad 23°C.

Forecasts for Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir suggest partly cloudy skies with the possibility of strong winds and heavy rains. Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Baramulla, Jammu, and Shopian may particularly face these weather conditions.

Residents are advised to stay informed of the latest forecasts and take necessary precautions to mitigate the effects of these adverse weather conditions.
