JHELUM:Three people lost their lives, while 18 others were injured in two incidents of cylinder blasts in Jhelum and Gujranwala on Sunday.
In Jhelum, a cylinder exploded in the kitchen of a three-story hotel on GT Road. A portion of the building was collapsed and three people lost their lives resultantly. According to rescue officials, as many 12 people were injured in the tragic incident.
Three people were critically injured. An emergency has been declared in the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Jhelum.
Some injured are still under the debris and rescue work is in progress. The Deputy Commissioner and the District Police Officer (DPO) are supervising the rescue operation.
In another incident, six people were injured in a cylinder blast at a local factory in Gujranwala. Gas leakage triggered explosion, the rescue officials said.
