Laptop explosion kills two children in Faisalabad

A laptop explosion sparked a deadly fire early Wednesday in the Sharifpura area of Faisalabad, claiming the lives of two children and injuring nine others, officials said.

Rescue services rushed nine persons, including two women and five children aged three to nine, to Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital with burns, according to doctors. Tragically, a 6-year-old girl named Dua and a 9-year-old boy named Taha succumbed to their injuries.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the explosion. However, lithium-ion batteries commonly found in laptops and mobile phones have been known to overheat and catch fire, albeit rarely resulting in explosions.
