The establishment of the United Nations took place on October 24, 1945, with the ratification of the UN Charter. This day is celebrated every year, highlighting the guiding principles and objectives of the UN Charter under which international cooperation has been implemented.
On this occasion, a ceremony will be held at the Pakistan National Council of Arts in Islamabad on Saturday, aiming to highlight the deep historical ties between Pakistan and the United Nations. President Asif Ali Zardari stated that Pakistan is ready to cooperate with all UN member countries to achieve a peaceful and prosperous world for all. In his message on the UN’s founding day, he emphasized that Pakistan has consistently supported the principles of the UN Charter.
Asif Ali Zardari noted that Pakistan has played a significant role in global peace and security, which includes contributing troops and police to UN peacekeeping missions. He also expressed concern that serious violations of UN principles in occupied Palestine and India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir jeopardize the UN’s efforts to achieve global peace.
