An Imam of Taj Mosque was killed over unpaid dues issue in the city, police said Wednesday.
According to police, the murder of Mashooq Ali stemmed from a dispute over unpaid dues near a grocery shop which was being run by Imam Khadim Hussain.
The body was shifted to Taluka Hospital Moro for necessary formalities before being handed over to the family. It was later transported to the Imam’s native village Mir Muhammad Bugti, where a mourning atmosphere prevailed as grieving residents mourned the loss.
Local authorities are investigating the incident, while the tragic murder has raised concerns over rising tensions and lawlessness in the region.
