Two die of gas suffocation in Mastung, two unconscious

In a tragic incident in the Kangar area of Mastung district, two brothers lost their lives due to gas suffocation, while two children from the same family fell unconscious.

Rescue sources reported that the family members had gone to sleep without turning off the gas heater. As a result, Abdul Razaq Lehri and Hafiz Abdul Malik Lehri died from the gas suffocation. The unconscious children were rushed to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Hospital.

After the necessary legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the family. The children, after receiving initial medical care, were referred to Quetta for further treatment.

Gas suffocation incidents are a recurring concern in various parts of Balochistan, particularly during the colder months. The widespread use of gas heaters, often left on overnight for warmth, has led to several cases of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Despite repeated warnings from authorities about the dangers of using gas heaters without proper ventilation, such incidents continue to claim lives, underscoring the need for increased public awareness and safety measures.
