COAS Gen Asim Munir dedicates his promotion as ‘Field Marshal’ to nation, armed forces, and martyrs

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, who has been promoted as ‘Field Marshal,’ has expressed profound gratitude to Allah Almighty upon receiving the prestigious rank of Field Marshal.

In a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday, he dedicated the honor to the entire nation, the armed forces of Pakistan, and especially to the martyrs and war veterans from both the civilian and military ranks.

‘This honor is not mine alone,’ he stated. ‘It belongs to the people of Pakistan, the armed forces, and most importantly, to our martyrs and Ghazis who sacrificed everything for this country.’

Field Marshal Asim Munir also extended his sincere thanks to the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, and the federal cabinet for their trust and confidence.

‘I consider this honor a national trust. And to uphold this trust, even millions like me would willingly lay down their lives,’ he affirmed.

In his message, he emphasized that the rank is not a personal achievement but a collective tribute to the valor, unity, and spirit of Pakistan’s armed forces and its resilient people.

Field Marshal General Asim Munir concluded with a heartfelt note of appreciation to the entire nation for their continued support. The federal government on Tuesday promoted Chief of the Army Staff General Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal.

The decision was made during a federal cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The government approved the promotion of COAS General Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal for ensuring the security of the country and defeating the enemy via best strategy and courageous leadership during ‘Operation BunyanumMarsoos’.
