Karbala is not just an event, it is a battle of right and wrong: PasbaneWatan Pakistan

Muhammad Tahir Khokhar, Central President of PasbaneWatan Pakistan, described Imam Hussain’s sacrifice in Karbala as a powerful symbol in the fight against contemporary social evils. He termed Hussain’s resistance against Yazid as a timeless example for those facing oppression and injustice. Khokhar said that Hussain’s defiance serves as a potent reminder of the importance of speaking out against tyranny.

Khokhar drew parallels between the historic battle of Karbala and the presentday struggle against oppression, corruption, and injustice. He labeled these social issues as manifestations of “modern Yazidism,” an ideology he believes must be actively confronted. He stated that refusing to bow down to such forces is a fundamental aspect of the Islamic conscience.

The PasbaneWatan leader highlighted his party’s commitment to Hussain’s principles of truth, sacrifice, and righteousness. He pledged to continue their peaceful, democratic efforts to combat social injustice. Khokhar emphasized the importance of educating youth about Hussaini teachings to cultivate future leadership based on these ideals.

Khokhar urged the government to take steps to ensure peace and security during Muharram and promote religious tolerance. He appealed to religious scholars, speakers, and political and religious figures to foster unity and interfaith harmony. He reiterated his commitment to a peaceful, just, and prosperous nation founded on Hussain’s ideals.

He described the Hussaini mission as an ongoing struggle against the “Yazid” of every era, essential for purging Pakistan of corruption, oppression, and lawlessness. Khokhar characterized Muharram as a period of renewal, calling for the elimination of “Yazidi thought” at all levels. He stressed that opposing tyrannical rulers and systems is a testament to faith. He urged the younger generation to actively confront these modern forms of “Yazidism,” which he considers an enduring ideology that takes on different forms over time. Khokhar vowed to follow Hussain’s path to eradicate this ideology completely.
