Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has inaugurated development projects worth Rs513 million across Karachi. Along with road repairs, footpath rehabilitation, and sewerage system improvements worth Rs122 million in Orangi Town, the mayor also initiated projects in several union councils in District East.

Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, District East, Mayor Wahab detailed the upgradation efforts, aimed at improving traffic flow and addressing persistent sanitation concerns. Future phases will target areas near Disco Bakery, Khudadad Colony, and Patel Hospital. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad and other officials.

In Hussain Hazara Goth, Mayor Wahab criticized the previous administration for neglecting civic issues, highlighting the ongoing development efforts by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in all 246 union councils. He emphasized that concrete actions, not rhetoric, resolve issues, and reiterated PPP’s commitment to serving all citizens regardless of political affiliation.
