Preparations are in full swing for the 282nd annual Urs of the renowned Sufi poet and saint of Sindh, Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. A high-level meeting, chaired by Sindh Minister for Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Archives, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, was held at the Bhat Shah Rest House to finalize arrangements for the three-day celebrations, scheduled for 14th, 15th, and 16th Safar 1447 AH.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the police and district administration, including Provincial Secretary Culture and Tourism, Khair Muhammad Kalwar; DIG Police Hyderabad Region, Tariq Razaq Dharijo; and Deputy Commissioner Matiari, Muhammad Yousuf Shaikh. Minister Shah emphasized the timely completion of all arrangements to pay homage to the revered saint. In view of the ongoing monsoon season, he stressed the need for effective drainage and facilitation of pilgrims.
The minister issued directives for the repair of roads from the national highway to the shrine, improvement of the helipad, tree plantation, and lighting arrangements. Cleanliness measures within Bhat Shah were also highlighted. Anticipating the arrival of millions of devotees, he directed the authorities to prioritize the convenience of the pilgrims and ensure a seamless experience. Instructions were given to ensure an uninterrupted power supply, with backup generators kept ready to address potential outages.
